ZZ Top are a Southern rock, blues band formed in Houston, Texas in 1969. After some initial changes the line up comprised original member and guitarist Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard and bassist Dusty Hill and has remained unchanged to this day.

ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, 25 million in the US alone. They've achieved 8 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, three MTV Video Music Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards in 2004. They were named "Official Heroes for the State of Texas" by the Texas House of Representatives in 1986.
